Mount Ubione: A Panoramic Trek Between the Imagna and Brembana Valleys
Mount Ubione between the Imagna and Brembana valleys
An accessible summit with prehistory inside it.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders and climb Monte Ubione, strategically placed between the Valle Imagna and the Valle Brembana: one of the most panoramic objectives near Bergamo. Here walking is not only walking: this area holds traces of the Palaeolithic and Neolithic, in a natural setting that is still genuine. The route is varied but never technical, with modest height gain and constant views across the Orobie pre-Alps, and there is a bivouac hut at the top.
5 reasons to come - the view between the Valle Imagna and the Valle Brembana - the bivouac hut on the summit of Monte Ubione - the area's prehistoric traces - a varied loop with modest height gain - an objective that works in any season
