WHY THIS HIKE

Mount Timogno in winter

The Vodala classic, in its daytime version.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the Boario Spiazzi area, above Gromo, and climb the snowy pistes on packed snow with simple micro-spikes: safe ground, ideal for anyone easing into winter walking. The climb alternates gentle sections with slightly steeper ones, always manageable, and offers fine views over the Orobie from the very start. At the summit of Monte Timogno the view opens out, and on the way back there is Rifugio Vodala.

5 reasons to come - the summit of Monte Timogno in winter - Rifugio Vodala on the way home - the snowy Orobie as far as you can see - a gradual climb, perfect for a first winter outing - full light and open views all day

Who it suits We walk on packed snow with micro-spikes: fine even if this is your first winter outing.

Winter in the Val Seriana, without complications: come with the Guidders.

Outing on 22 February 2026
