Mount Serottini and the Seroti Lakes
Mount Serottini and the Seroti lakes
High lakes in the Stelvio National Park.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Pianaccio, cross pastures, larches and peat bogs and begin climbing the Val Bighera. The path is wild just enough: you gain height on scree, rock steps and stony basins, but every step is worth it. The first gift is Lago Seroti Inferiore, set in a hanging bowl; then comes Lago Storto, higher up and ringed by silence. Above it all stands the summit of Monte Serottini.
5 reasons to come - the Seroti lakes, one after another - Lago Storto, suspended high up - the summit of Monte Serottini - the Val Bighera, wild in just the right measure - the Stelvio National Park at its quietest
Who it suits A high-altitude outing with scree and rock steps: good fitness and a sure step are needed.
Silence and high ground: come and take them with the Guidders.
