The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Arenzano, right at the sea, and climb steadily to the great grassy ridges of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. We reach Monte Reixa, up on the crest, with the Ligurian coast stretching out below; then Rifugio Argentea for lunch and Lago della Tina, hidden among the mountains, before the return. A loop that brings everything together: a demanding climb, panoramic crests, a hut up high and a lake you do not expect.

We start from Arenzano, immediately joining trails that climb into the Ligurian hinterland. The ascent is gradual and steady, winding through forests and Mediterranean scrub, with the first spectacular openings offering breathtaking sea views.

Argentea Refuge and Lunch Break

We reach Rifugio Argentea, the perfect spot for a break. If open, you can have lunch at this self-managed mountain hut; otherwise, you can enjoy a delicious packed lunch with a view over the Ligurian Sea.

14:30LAKE

Lake Tina

After a break, we'll descend towards Lago della Tina, a small, hidden lake nestled in the Ligurian Apennines. From here, the trail continues downhill through forests and over ridges until we return to Arenzano, completing the loop.

Back to the cars at Arenzano.
