WHY THIS HIKE

Sunset on Mount Pizzocolo

Golden hour over Lake Garda, and a walk home lit by the moon.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Sant'Urbano, above Toscolano Maderno, in the late afternoon, and climb towards Monte Pizzocolo at a steady gradient, through beech woods and clearings that open wider and wider. We pass the Bivacco Due Aceri and reach the big summit cross, where the view turns all the way round: below us the whole length of Lake Garda, and on clear days Monte Baldo, the Adamello group, the Brenta Dolomites and even the Apennines. Then we walk down by head torch and moonlight.

5 reasons to come - sunset from the cross on the Pizzocolo - the whole of Lake Garda, seen from above - the Bivacco Due Aceri on the way up - Monte Baldo, the Adamello and the Brenta Dolomites on the horizon - the evening descent, with the moon above the lake

Who it suits A steady gradient and nothing technical: normal walking fitness and a taste for coming back in the dark.

Lake Garda at sunset is unforgettable: come and watch it with the Guidders.

With the group on this date

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Valentina, a Guiddy coordinator: a dynamic, sunny, outgoing person, deeply attached to nature. One of my greatest passions is the mountains: it's an environment that makes me grow, enriches me and lets me relax and clear my head of daily routine. I love being in a group and sharing experiences, doing whatever I can to add something positive — which, as a coordinator, is basically the job description. Through hikes and treks I learned the value of consistency and of respect for nature, and I developed adaptability and a constant appetite for learning something new, improving and taking on new challenges with commitment and determination. 🥾 See you in the mountains, Guidders!

We'll email you when they have a new outing on the calendar.
