WHY THIS HIKE

Monte Menna e Bivacco Maga

A bivouac hut, a ridge and an iconic Orobie summit.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Zorzone, above Oltre il Colle, and climb through the woods to Cascina Mattuida, then the slopes open out and we reach the Bivacco Maga, perched above Roncobello. From there we take the ridge leading to Cima di Menna, with the view widening over the Val Serina and the surrounding peaks. The descent passes Piazzole and returns to the Mattuida, closing a circuit that never repeats the same landscape.

5 reasons to come - Cima di Menna, one of the most recognisable summits in the Orobie - the Bivacco Maga along the route - the final ridge, open on both sides - the view over the Val Serina and beyond - a varied loop, from woodland to rock

Who it suits A long climb, steep ground in places and passages over stony, exposed terrain: good fitness and a sure step are needed.

A real mountain day: come and share it with the Guidders.

Outing on 3 October 2026
