Mount Magnodeno: Endless Views Above Lecco, with Easy Ridge Hiking and the Stoppani Refuge
Mount Magnodeno above Lecco
A loop with an easy crest, and a view that turns all the way round.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Lecco and climb to Rifugio Antonio Stoppani, then to the Radura dei Grassi and up towards Monte Magnodeno. The final stretch is an easy but striking crest, which also leads to Cima del Fò. From up there the eye ranges over the imposing walls of the Resegone, the Grigne and the town of Lecco seen from above. The return passes the Stoppani again, closing a complete loop.
5 reasons to come - the easy, striking crest up to the Magnodeno - Cima del Fò just beyond the summit - Rifugio Stoppani, on the way up and back - the walls of the Resegone and the Grigne opposite - Lecco seen from above, all at once
Who it suits A loop with a steady climb and an easy crest: normal walking fitness and a sure step.
