WHY THIS HIKE

Mount Magnodeno above Lecco

The least talked-about summit above Lecco, with the widest view.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the cable car square at the Piani d'Erna and climb towards Monte Magnodeno, by way of Campo dei Boi. It is a real climb, the kind you feel, but the summit gives an enormous view: the Lake of Lecco, the eastern arm of Lake Como, the Brianza, the Resegone and the Grigne all at once. Less frequented than the Lecco classics, it has a strong identity: solid, panoramic, without frills.

5 reasons to come - the summit of Monte Magnodeno and its enormous view - the Lake of Lecco and the eastern arm of the Lario - the Resegone and the Grigne from the same top - Campo dei Boi along the climb - a quiet summit a step from Lecco

Who it suits A continuous, demanding climb: good fitness is needed, but nothing technical.

Earning a summit step by step: come with the Guidders.

"Journey to Campo dei Boi"
"We'll hike through wooded sections, small clearings, and the area of Campo dei Boi, which acts as a sort of gateway between the gentler part of the ascent and the more challenging trekking ahead. This is a great time to bond as a group, catch your breath, and really feel like we're making progress towards the summit."

11:30SUMMIT
Mount Magnodeno Summit
The final stretch is what truly defines this trek. Here, the trail becomes more pronounced, the mountain opens up, and you'll enter the most scenic and rewarding part of the day. The last few meters demand focus and a little extra energy, which makes reaching the summit all the more satisfying. You'll find yourselves surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, with your efforts completely rewarded by spectacular panoramic views of the Grigne mountains, Mount Resegone, Lake Lecco, the Brianza lakes, and the Adda River. There are no mountain huts in the area, but there's a freely accessible bivouac shelter where you can rest.
