Mount Frerone: a scenic loop hike in Val Camonica
Mount Frerone: a scenic loop hike in Val Camonica
A wild loop on the edge of the Adamello park.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Bazena, in the upper Valle Camonica, and climb a panoramic ridge through high pastures and scree to the summit of Monte Frerone. The view opens onto the valley and the peaks of the Adamello park, in a spare landscape of rock and silence. The descent is the most technical part of the circuit, on ground that is loose in places, taken calmly before we close the loop back at Bazena.
5 reasons to come - the summit of Monte Frerone and its view - the wild setting of the Adamello park - a loop that climbs and descends by different lines - the panoramic ridges of the upper Valle Camonica - a full day, far from any noise
Who it suits A long, physical route with steep sections and ground that is loose in places up high: good fitness and a sure step are needed.
Close to the essence of the valley: come and walk it with the Guidders.
