The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Carate Urio on a loop that climbs gradually through chestnut and beech woods and old mountain paths to Rifugio Murelli, a quiet place to pause. From there we carry on to Monte Colmegnone, a panoramic summit that opens the view onto Lake Como, the Valle Intelvi and the surrounding mountains, and then to Monte di Carate before closing the circuit. A long route with height gain you feel, but nothing technical.
