Mount Cadelle and the Porcile Lakes: A Val Tartano Circuit
Mount Cadelle and the Porcile lakes
A wild loop in the Val Tartano, with the lakes halfway.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Tartano and climb through woods and isolated pastures to the Porcile tarns, then to the Passo di Porcile, where the landscape opens out. From there we gain the summit of Monte Cadelle, with the view widening across the Valtellina Orobie and the Val Brembana. The return passes the tarns again, which look quite different in the afternoon light. Rarely walked paths, lonely valleys, landscapes that change step by step.
5 reasons to come - the Porcile tarns, twice in one day - the summit of Monte Cadelle and its view - the Passo di Porcile, where everything opens up - lonely valleys and little-walked paths - the divide between the Valtellina Orobie and the Val Brembana
Who it suits Serious height gain and little-walked paths: good fitness and a sure step are needed.
A complete experience, not just a walk: come with the Guidders.
