The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the Ponte di Valmaggiore, above Predazzo, and climb into the Lagorai chain towards Lago di Cece: one of the finest among the many alpine tarns dotting this long ridge, its flat shores perfect for stopping. Anyone with energy to spare carries on to the Caserina tarn, a lovely bowl below Cima Cece, where the scene changes again.
