WHY THIS HIKE

Lake Federa in Autumn

A stream singing over the rocks, wooden and iron bridges, a forest blazing gold, and finally: Lake Federa. If autumn in the Dolomites has a face, this is it.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off from Cortina d'Ampezzo and take the Gores de Federa trail, a loop following the Ru de Federa stream through waterfalls, rapids and crystal-clear pools. We climb scenic stairways and panoramic switchbacks, with the golden afternoon light lighting up every color of the forest. We pass Malga Federa, overlooking Cortina, and reach Lake Federa, a mirror of water at the foot of Croda da Lago. We descend through the same valley, with views changing at every turn.

Why join us- The Gores de Federa: a stream to experience step by step- Lake Federa with Croda da Lago in the background- Autumn colors in the Ampezzo valley at their finest- A loop suited to anyone with trained legs, no technical sections

Come discover it with the Guidders: we'll be waiting on the trail!

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Alain, a mid-mountain leader registered with the Collegio Guide Alpine del Veneto. I was born and raised on the doorstep of the Dolomites, and I started walking as a child with my father ahead of me on the trail. What began as a habit became the thing that makes me feel most alive: at some point I left a safe job that never really felt like mine, and chose the mountains instead. What I love most is watching someone let themselves be amazed. Every outing is a chance to reconnect with nature and, almost without noticing, with yourself: you discover, you breathe, you go home a little different from how you set off. If you hear the call of the peaks too, I'm here. ⛰ See you in the mountains, Guidders!
