WHY THIS HIKE

The Twin Lakes in winter from Carona

Frozen high-mountain lakes, profound silences, and landscapes that seem suspended in time: the winter excursion to the Twin Lakes, starting from Carona, is the ideal experience for a special day in the heart of the Bergamo Alps. The route winds through an authentic alpine environment, where winter shows its most essential side: snowy woods, wide valleys, and high-altitude basins that, with the cold, transform into large frozen surfaces with a unique charm. The ascent is constant and rewarding, perfect for Guidders with good fitness who want to experience the mountains in winter without haste but with substance. We will reach the Rifugio Gemelli, a historical landmark in the area, immersed in a powerful and evocative setting, surrounded by the lakes and peaks that embrace it. Here, time seems to slow down, and every step taken to get there gains value. An ideal winter trek for those seeking austere but fascinating nature, open panoramas, and the satisfaction of sharing an intense experience with the Guidders community.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Alessandro, a mid-mountain leader registered with the Collegio Guide Alpine Lombardia since 2020 and an International Mountain Leader (UIMLA) since 2025. The mountains are three things at once for me: freedom, discovery and sharing. Every trail is a chance to feel something real and to build bonds that outlast the day — which is exactly why I lead groups instead of walking alone. With the Guidders I'll take you on hikes and trips that taste of nature, endless views and shared smiles. The best adventures always start together: come and walk with us. ✨ See you in the mountains, Guidders!
