Gemelli Lakes from Carona: A Panoramic Winter Trek in Val Brembana
The Twin Lakes from Carona in winter
Two high lakes, suspended in winter silence.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the village of Carona and climb through silent woods and snowy slopes, with water as the thread running through the whole day: first the hidden tarns along the way, then the Laghi Gemelli, two high sheets of water that in winter become a landscape suspended in time. The path climbs steadily, alternating shaded stretches with sudden panoramic openings over the Val Brembana.
5 reasons to come - the frozen Laghi Gemelli in winter - the hidden tarns along the climb - the silent woods above Carona - panoramic openings over the Val Brembana - a suspended landscape that does not exist in summer
Who it suits An intense winter outing with a steady climb: good fitness and proper kit are needed.
The most genuine Val Brembana, under snow: come with the Guidders.
