Torena Lakes: A scenic trek in Val Belviso among Black Lake, Green Lake, and Alpine legends.
The Torena lakes in Val Belviso
Two lakes side by side, and utterly different.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders into the heart of the Val Belviso, at the foot of Monte Torena, and climb gradually through pastures, summer farms and high paths, in wide, bright country. On arrival the landscape changes face: Lago Nero and Lago Verde, close together yet utterly different in colour and character, appear set into a silent glacial basin. Here the mountains genuinely surprise you, between reflections and silence.
5 reasons to come - Lago Nero and Lago Verde, a few steps apart - the glacial basin at the foot of Monte Torena - a gradual climb, never brutal - the pastures and summer farms of the Val Belviso - wide, bright country, perfect for photographs
Who it suits A gradual climb on high paths: normal mountain walking fitness is enough.
Two lakes in one go: come and see them with the Guidders.
