The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Montespluga, in the Val San Giacomo, and walk between Lago di Montespluga, Lago Azzurro and the slopes rising towards the Splügen pass, through high grassland, water and traces of an alpine frontier. The path alternates gravel tracks, lines across grass and steeper, stonier sections, and the high-altitude light does the rest: the air is different here, and it shows in the photographs too.
