WHY THIS HIKE

The Valley of the Princes

A plateau suspended at over 2,000 meters amidst luminous meadows, delicate peat bogs, and crystal-clear streams. Arriving in the valley feels like the beginning of a dream.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

The climb begins among Walser houses and it winds through the larch forest, offering glimpses of Punta Valnera and the Corno Bianco mountain range. Once past the valley ridge, the trail opens onto a fairytale plateau crisscrossed by crystal-clear streams.

The name "Valley of the Princes" evokes legend and magic, a remote corner that speaks of Alpine nobility and silent beauty. A beloved destination since Queen Margherita di Savoia, who loved to stroll here during her summer stays in Gressoney.

The perfect hike for lovers of pristine nature and absolute silence, to evoke emotions, spark curiosity, and convey the wild beauty of one of the hidden gems of the Aosta Valley.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Anna, an environmental hiking guide and a repentant ex-office worker. I run group hikes in Lombardy, mainly in the provinces of Lecco, Como and Sondrio, and the reason is always the same: to spread as widely as I can that sense of wonder towards nature and towards this precious, beautiful planet of ours. What I enjoy most is watching someone enjoy a view without a worry in their head and go home having learned something new. It happens often — and it happens better if there's one of my home-made biscuits to nibble along the way. 🍪 Join one of my hikes and see for yourself. See you in the mountains, Guidders!
