The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the church of Bueggio, a small gem above Vilminore, and climb by head torch through the silence of the night, while the moon traces the outline of the mountains. In the distance the shape of the Gleno dam appears, wrapped for the occasion in a special light. This is no ordinary walk: it is a journey through time, joining the night-time mountains with the memory of one of the tragedies that marked these valleys.
