The Panoramic Rosetta Peak Ridge: A Balcony Over the Alps in Val Gerola
The Rosetta peak ridge in Val Gerola
A grassy crest, and a lake that mirrors it all.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Rasura, in the Val Gerola, and climb through woods and clearings to Rifugio Bar Bianco, the first place to pause. Past the hut we cross quiet summer pastures and reach Lago di Culino, a sheet of water that mirrors the mountain and the sky. From there the grassy crest — striking, open on both sides — leads to Cima della Rosetta, a balcony over the Alps.
