WHY THIS HIKE

The emerald green of upper Val Seriana

One of the most captivating treks in upper Val Seriana, for those who love big alpine landscapes. We reach the famous Rifugio Curò, overlooking Lago del Barbellino: one of the most iconic lakes in the Bergamo Orobie, known for its striking emerald colour, which shifts with the light and the season.

Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

The trail crosses thick fir woods, wide alpine grasslands and a splendid mountain basin where the view keeps changing step by step. Just beyond the hut stands the sword in the stone, next to the chapel dedicated to those lost in the mountains: the landmark everyone photographs.

Technically the route has no particular difficulties or exposed sections, but 1,000 metres of ascent over twelve kilometres call for good fitness and a full day ahead of you.

This is an intermediate hike: no technical difficulty or exposed sections, but a thousand metres of ascent in seven hours call for good fitness. Bring boots, water and a windproof jacket. The sports-centre car park costs 5 euros a day and is not included.

Come with the Guidders: book your place and let's walk up to the Curò.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Federica, a mid-mountain leader: born in Milan, but with my heart in the Bergamo Prealps. That's where the Presolana grew my passion for the mountains, and I've never really moved away since. After a few years as a copywriter I decided to change direction and follow what made me feel at home: the trails. In 2020 I qualified as a guide and chose to live closer to nature. I love taking people out to discover views, silences and mountain wonders, sharing every step with the Guidders. 🥾⛰️ See you in the mountains, Guidders!
