Mount Caucaso and its Springs from Scoglina Pass
Mount Caucaso and its springs
Where the woods end, the sea begins.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the Passo della Scoglina and climb gently along the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri, through old hamlets and sunlit clearings, in the restoring silence of beech woods. At the summit of Monte Caucaso a small chapel awaits, and a view ranging from the Apuan Alps to Corsica on the clearest days. Then we drop to the springs of the Aveto, which have a charm all their own.
5 reasons to come - the summit of Monte Caucaso and its chapel - the springs of the Aveto - a stretch of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri - sea and mountains in the same glance - the silent beech woods of the Ligurian Apennines
