The experience

Day 1. We set off with the Guidders from Crotto Dangri and climb hard towards Rifugio Capanna Como, overlooking Lago Darengo: a real climb on a steep mule track and woodland path, exactly the way to earn a sunset by the lake and a night in the hut.

Day 2. The circuit gets even better: we carry on to the valley's other secret lakes, pass Rifugio Pianezza and descend to close the loop.
