WHY THIS CLIMB

The Sinigaglia ridge on the Grignetta

An iconic ridge, with chains and rungs.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the Piani dei Resinelli and climb the path across the Canalone Porta, with fine views of the Torrioni Magnaghi. Past that section the line gains the crest, and from there the route turns more technical and spectacular: one after another come stretches fitted with chains and metal rungs, including the famous Saltino del Gatto, along the Cresta Sinigaglia. We pass Rifugio Porta and the Bivacco Ferrario on the way to the summit of the Grignetta.

5 reasons to come - the Cresta Sinigaglia, one of the Grigne classics - the Saltino del Gatto and the fitted sections - the Torrioni Magnaghi along the Canalone Porta - the summit of the southern Grigna - adrenaline and grand views in the same day

Who it suits This is a mountaineering route: a head for heights, a sure step, the right equipment and experience on exposed ground.

A great classic that is never ordinary: come and try it with the Guidders.
