09:00MEETING
Monti Sartorius
The trail winds through the striking endemic birch forest (Betula aetnensis, one of the highest-altitude woodlands in Europe) and the row of craters formed by the 1865 eruption. You'll walk on a ground of scoria and lava, passing between rounded scoria cones, volcanic "bombs" and open clearings. Along the way, beautiful views open up over the Ionian coast, Taormina and, on clear days, all the way to Calabria. In autumn, the colors of the birch trees make this wooded stretch particularly scenic. Your guide will share the story of the Sartorius craters' formation, the geology of the lava flows and the botanical peculiarities of this unique place.

Wine Tasting
Mount Etna in a glass: discover the land enhanced by its native grape varieties. Together with our Guide, also a certified Sommelier, we'll dive into exceptional sips that bring to life the passion of this volcanic territory. Etna DOC wines — savory, mineral and elegant — let yourself be captivated by their unique character.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Raffaela — or Raffaela Wanderlust, as people know me, for the constant need to travel and explore nature. I was born at the foot of Etna, the living mountain, and that's where a passion began that today is more than professional: it's about sharing. I've travelled across oceans looking for contact with the wild lands of the furthest continents, following the star of volcanoes as though pulled by some ancestral magnet. Then came the great call of the Alps and the Dolomites, and that's where I keep exploring today. "I wonder how a human being could not love the mountains." 🌋 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
