Hike to Lake Picol: a challenge through wild nature and alpine views in Val Brandet
Lake Picol in Val Brandet
A long climb, with a small lake as the prize.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the floor of the Val Brandet, above Corteno Golgi, and take on a continuous climb through shady woods, old summer pastures and high grazing. We pass Malga Casazza and with every step the view widens, up to Lago Picol: a small sheet of water set among rock and mountain, in genuine country far from the crowds. Here the satisfaction counts as much as the view, because you have played for every metre.
5 reasons to come - Lago Picol, small and hidden among the rocks - the old summer pastures of the Val Brandet - a continuous climb that genuinely tests you - high pastures away from the busy circuits - a corner of the Brescia mountains few people know
Who it suits A long, continuous climb: it takes legs, stamina and the determination to see it through.
If you like earning it, this is the day: come with the Guidders.
