WHY THIS HIKE

Campo Moro and Campagneda

A loop that changes world four times over.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Campo Moro, beside Rifugio Zoia, and climb into the Val Poschiavina towards Passo Canciano and Passo di Campagneda, through high pastures and scree, with the eye running across Lago di Campo Moro and the peaks of the Bernina group. From the pass we drop to the Campagneda plateau and return by way of Alpe Prabello and Rifugio Cristina. The beauty is in the rhythm: the scenery changes again and again, from lake to passes to the pastures on the way home, without ever losing the sense of a journey.

5 reasons to come - a full loop, with two passes in one day - the Bernina group and its glaciers always ahead - Lago di Campo Moro seen from above - Rifugio Cristina at Alpe Prabello - a genuine path that never gets dull

Who it suits A long, rewarding day: the path is clear but steep in places, with stony ground. You need a sure step and good fitness.

This is how you walk the upper Valmalenco: come and find it with the Guidders.
