HOW TO GET THERE
A
09:00MEETING
Meeting point and departure from Casalvolone (NO)
The meeting point with the Guidders is at the free car park in Casalvolone (NO); we usually gather a bit earlier, so we can have breakfast, get to know each other, and use the restroom. From here we'll set off on this exciting adventure through rice fields, marshes, castles, and abbeys.
B
09:30VIEWPOINT
The Casalbeltrame Nature Reserve (NO)
This reserve, often called the marsh, is a paradise for migratory birds that stop here before heading back to their home countries. This will be a special day, as we might get to see the park volunteers ringing the birds. It's a truly unique experience you won't forget.
C
11:00CHURCH
The Kingdom of the Counts of Biandrate
Here in Biandrate, the counts bearing the same name had their headquarters, from which they ruled over much of what is now north-western Italy. The Counts of Biandrate were one of the most important families of the Middle Ages. As a testament to this significant past, we can admire the frescoes of the Collegiate Church of San Colombano.
D
14:00CHURCH
San Nazzaro Sesia and its Abbey
In the afternoon, we'll visit one of the most beautiful abbeys of the Novara plain, the Abbey of San Nazario e Celso. A perfectly preserved gem of medieval architecture of rare beauty. From here we'll move on to another important church, the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Fontana. We'll be on the banks of the Sesia river, from where we'll reach the village of Villata with its Castle.
E
15:00RETURN
Return to Base
From Villata we'll continue on to Casalvolone, where we'll wrap up this wonderful adventure with a nice cold beer, happy about the day spent together and already planning our next adventure with the Guidders.

How do you get to Casalvolone? By carpooling.

You say so when booking, then you get organised in the Telegram group. Contacts and costs are agreed between you: a seat isn't guaranteed.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Gilberto, an environmental hiking guide. They say happiness is only real when shared, and for me there's no greater joy than a view earned together. I take people to find the most genuine side of our trails, away from the rush and at footprint pace. I can't wait to share with you not only the walking, but the stories, the silences and — why not — a good piece of cheese at the top. Backpack on, we'll work out the rest as we go. Experience, care for safety and that pinch of adventure it takes to make an outing unforgettable: joining the next walk? 🧀 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
