I'm from Bassano del Grappa and I work mainly in the mountains: from the Venetian Prealps, quieter and wilder, to the wonderful scenery of the Dolomites. I love reading, and it's not unusual for me, mid-hike — deep in the forest or on an isolated rise — to open a book and read a passage aloud: with words our legs get lighter and our thoughts step away from the here and now to hold a moment of something timeless.
