From the Auronzo Hut to the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo Caves.
The caves of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo
The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are a true icon of the Dolomites, a hike to do at least once in a lifetime. Access to this fantastic place is limited, and the route we will take starts directly from the Auronzo refuge, avoiding the initial elevation gain. A particularly spectacular spot for taking photos is represented by the caves above the Refuge. Looking up, you will see them clearly. The path that leads up is quite steep, but if you are passionate about photography, you absolutely cannot miss them! After this stop, we will continue on the path. The most challenging part is the ascent from the bottom: a steep section on stones which, under the sun, can be tiring, so it is important to tackle it calmly and well hydrated. A truly fascinating aspect of this section is the possibility of encountering marmots: their characteristic call will resonate in the air, and if you are careful, you will see them running a few steps from you! An excursion that offers breathtaking views and encounters with the wild nature of the Dolomites.
