The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Narro and climb through silent woods and open stretches, on a steady ascent that gives ever-wider views over Lake Como. Arriving at the Croce di Muggio is the most moving moment: a genuine natural balcony above the lake, where you stop and breathe. Then we drop to the Alpe del Giumello for lunch at the hut, and pass the church of San Grato before heading back.
