Corno Zuccone in Val Taleggio: easy trek with a cheese tasting
Corno Zuccone and tasting
A balcony over the Val Taleggio, and the cheeses that made it famous waiting in the village.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Pizzino, one of the valley's stone villages, and climb at an easy pace through beech woods and clearings. The path is wide and well trodden, the climb steady but never steep, and it brings us below Corno Zuccone: a natural balcony looking out over the Val Taleggio, the Val Brembana and the Orobie foothills. After a stop up top we close the loop on a different path, between barns and pastures. Down in the village a tasting of the valley's cheeses is waiting — Taleggio, Strachitunt, local bread and cured meats — and it is included in the price.
5 reasons to come - the view from Corno Zuccone across three valleys - a proper loop, up one path and down another - the beech woods and clearings of the Val Taleggio - the Taleggio and Strachitunt tasting, included - the stone villages of the valley
