WHY THIS HIKE

Corno Bussola, sentinel of Val d'Ayas

A Panoramic Hike Amongst the Reflections of the Palasinaz Lakes, with Views of Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

This hike raises the bar a little, but rewards you with truly authentic emotions: summiting Corno Bussola (3023m) means earning breathtaking views with every step, views that more than repay your effort. From the heart of Val d'Ayas, the trail winds through crystalline lakes, alpine pastures, rocky faces, and ever-widening vistas that eventually encompass Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn, and the peaks of Valtournenche.

While not technical, the route is long and involves a significant elevation gain, making it suitable for those with good fitness levels and a desire to challenge themselves. Join the Guidders community for a day of experiencing the silence of high altitudes, distant horizons, and turquoise reflections.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Stefano, an environmental hiking guide, and I've always had a deep bond with the mountains. From a young age I found in trails, woods and summits a place of freedom, discovery and connection with nature. Over time that passion turned into something more: the wish to share it. Today I take out people of every age and level to discover mountain country, passing on not only technical and safety knowledge but also respect for the environment and the pleasure of moving slowly, in tune with what's around us. I believe walking in the mountains isn't just physical activity: it's an experience that enriches whoever lives it, helping you find your own inner rhythm again and look at the world with new eyes. 🥾 See you in the mountains, Guidders!
