WHY THIS HIKE

Cima Longhede and Becca d'Aver

A loop that climbs straight into Torgnon's sky, through real alpine huts and wooden walkways in the forest.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Alpe Chavannes, weaving through larches and firs on wooden walkways built to protect the wet terrain below. We climb with the Guidders past Alpe Arpeille and Alpe Brusoney, the grade getting steeper on the final switchbacks before the pass: here the landscape opens up and the effort melts away. We reach the Col d'Avèr, our goal at 2464 meters, a natural balcony over the Aosta Valley peaks. The loop closes on a different slope, through pastures and alpine huts that still tell a story of genuine mountain life.

Along the way you'll pass the ruins of the Chavacour hospice, an ancient crossing point between Torgnon and the Valais: a piece of alpine history standing among the stones.

5 reasons to join - a true loop through alpine huts and larch woods - Col d'Avèr, a panoramic balcony at 2464 m - wooden walkways through untouched nature - the historic ruins of the Chavacour hospice - an intense but achievable day for steady walkers

Who it's for For hikers with good legs and a full day in the mountains in them. No technical skills needed, just a sure step and the drive to climb.

Book with us: the Guidders are waiting for you for this day among Torgnon's peaks!
