Snowshoeing under the Stars on Monte Pora with Dinner at Rifugio Magnolini
Night snowshoeing on Monte Pora
Snowshoes in the dark, and dinner waiting at the hut.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Castione and climb through woodland and piste along the soft ridge of Monte Pora: a simple, hugely panoramic route, perfect for enjoying snowshoeing without any difficulty. Before sitting down to eat there is a surprise: we climb to Monte Alto, one of the finest balconies in the area, with the evening lights below. Then down to Rifugio Magnolini for a mountain dinner, and back by head torch.
5 reasons to come - dinner at Rifugio Magnolini - the climb to Monte Alto before dinner - the soft ridge of Monte Pora, easy and panoramic - the return in the dark, head torches lit - a route that works even for a first snowshoe outing
