Snowshoeing in Val di Rezzalo – Winter Magic Amongst Mountain Huts, Silence, and History
Snowshoeing in Val di Rezzalo
A hamlet outside time, among snowy larches.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from the Ponte di Premia, above Fumero, and climb the old military mule track that winds between snow-covered larches and stone walls. The Val di Rezzalo is one of the most enchanting valleys in the Rhaetian Alps: wide, silent, like a fairytale, with the woods opening onto untouched clearings. We reach the historic hamlet of the Baite di San Bernardo, a place outside time, and then Rifugio La Baita.
5 reasons to come - the Baite di San Bernardo, a hamlet outside time - the old military mule track among the larches - the untouched clearings of the Val di Rezzalo - Rifugio La Baita as the objective - a gentle climb, fine for beginners
