Snowshoeing on Monte Sodadura from Piani di Artavaggio
Snowshoeing on Monte Sodadura
A slender pyramid above the Piani di Artavaggio.
The experience
Monte Sodadura is one of the most iconic summits in the Orobie pre-Alps: a pyramid rising above the Piani di Artavaggio that catches the eye of anyone passing through these valleys. We ride the cable car up with the Guidders and then walk through woods, pastures and panoramic crests to the top. From the summit the show is complete: the Grigne and the Resegone to the south, Monte Rosa appearing to the west, the Orobie chains to the east and, on clear days, even the Bernina. Then lunch at the hut.
5 reasons to come - the summit of Monte Sodadura, the Orobie pyramid - the Grigne, the Resegone and Monte Rosa from the same top - the cable car that takes you straight up - panoramic crests in the upper section - lunch at the hut before the return
