The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Montagna in Valtellina and climb a progressive line through snow-laden firs, where light filters between the branches and silence becomes part of the experience. We pass the Croce di Salvà and the views widen across the valley and the peaks, up to Alpe Mara, where we stop for lunch together. It is a complete snowshoe outing, with a steady but well-distributed climb.
