Easy — this outing
Perfect for those who want to enjoy nature without too much effort. Short, well-marked trails with gentle slopes. No technical difficulties, just a desire to walk, breathe in the fresh air, and share the day with a group.
Ideal for: Beginners, families, those who want to take their first steps in trekking.
Easy Plus
A little faster pace, but still accessible. Slightly longer routes or with a few more hills, requiring some walking experience. The terrain is always easy and safe.
Ideal for: Those who walk regularly and want to challenge themselves a little.
Intermediate
Here we enter the world of true trekking. Steeper climbs, stretches on uneven or longer trails that require stamina. The physical effort is medium to high, and the fatigue is noticeable... but so is the satisfaction!
Ideal for: Those who already have experience and a good level of physical fitness.
Intermediate Plus
When the mountains begin to take their toll. More challenging routes in terms of gradient or duration, with technical sections or uneven terrain. Even a medium elevation gain can be tough if concentrated in just a few kilometers
Ideal for: Trained hikers, accustomed to walking on mountain paths
Difficult
Level suitable for experienced hikers with excellent stamina and surefootedness. The physical challenge is high, and there may be steep sections or possible exposure, which is always noted in the hike description. Perfect for those who enjoy pushing their limits and conquering significant peaks.
Ideal for: Those who already have experience in an Alpine environment and want to challenge themselves.
Difficult Plus
Only for true Guidders with their Wild Spirit at its peak Long routes, significant elevation gain (over 1,100 m), and technical or exposed terrain. Excellent physical preparation, sure-footedness, and the ability to manage fatigue at high altitude are required.

Abbadia Lariana Railway Station, Piazza Alla Stazione 5, 23821 Abbadia Lariana provincia di Lecco, Italia. The exact time is confirmed in the group chat. We usually meet a little earlier for breakfast together, when possible.
Our hike begins at Abbadia Lariana train station (LC), where you can leave your car in the free parking area or arrive conveniently by train. From here, we set off along part of the Sentiero del Viandante and are immediately surrounded by peaceful woodland.
11:30WATERFALL
Cenghen Waterfalls
After following shaded trails through chestnut woods, we reach a rocky gorge carved out by cascading waterfalls, their presence announced by the rush of water. Here the temperature is noticeably cooler, making it the perfect spot to refresh ourselves and enjoy a snack.
13:00WATER
Linzanico Washhouse
We set off along the trail again, still surrounded by woodland, and make our way toward Linzanico. Along the route, we’ll come across a fascinating travertine rock formation, shaped over time by the patient work of water, and a tiny, seemingly abandoned hamlet, where we can enjoy an unforgettable view over the lake.
15:00RETURN
End of the hike
After exploring the stone houses of Linzanico, we head towards Abbadia Lariana on a gentle walk, once again following a section of the Wayfarer’s Path until we reach the railway station.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Francesca, a geologist by training and an environmental hiking guide with AIGAE. For more than ten years I've also worked in environmental education, for adults and children, in schools, parks and museums. My job consists of trying to convince people that a rock is a genuine open book of natural history, and that the droppings of a wild animal can be BEAUTIFUL. When I'm not doing science outreach or leading hikes, I'm probably working out whether a spider could be my new best friend (by talking to it, obviously). My life is a mix of salami sandwiches eaten in the woods and "wow, look at this beetle, it's stunning!" — because, let's be honest, what could possibly be better? See you in the mountains, Guidders!
We only ask for feedback from people who were really there.
After your outing, you can share your story too.
