Description

This year, celebrate New Year's Eve in hiking boots, not high heels. From December 30th to January 1st, we're heading to Alpe Devero, in the heart of the Piedmont Lepontine Alps, for 3 days of snow, silence and community.

You'll stay at Bar Pensione Fattorini, your base to explore the Alpe Veglia and Devero Natural Park. Get ready for a guided snowshoe hike through larch woods and snowy plateaus, plus a night walk under the stars, torches on, mountain silence all around. On the 31st, a shared dinner with local dishes and a midnight toast to kick off the new year the Guiddy way.

Welcome to the magic of Devero

We will arrive at Alpe Devero, at an altitude of about 1,640 m, and settle in at Pensione Fattorini, located at the entrance to the Alpe just a few minutes from the car park.

Begin your first hike

We'll set off on foot from Pensione Fattorini to discover the Alpe Devero, heading into the heart of the charming alpine village and beginning to immerse ourselves in the snowy landscape.

Witches' Lake and Crampiolo

We reach the characteristic hamlet of Crampiolo, nestled in the snowy landscape of Alpe Devero, and continue on to the enchanting Lago delle Streghe (Witches' Lake), a small body of water surrounded by forest and mountains. A magical spot that makes this hike truly special.

Return to the accommodation

After a break to admire the lake and a snack stop in Crampiolo, we resume the return route, following the loop trail back to our accommodation, the Pensione Fattorini.

After dinner, we immerse ourselves in the magic of Alpe Devero under the starry sky, with an evocative night walk on the snow through woods and silent alpine landscapes.

Breakfast and departure for the second excursion

After breakfast at Pensione Fattorini, we set off to discover Alpe Devero, following a loop route through woods, snowy trails and alpine views that will take us all the way to the Devero Lake Dam.

Devero Lake Dam

We reach the dam of Lake Devero, at around 1,850 m of altitude, where a spectacular panorama opens up over the lake and the surrounding mountains. Here we take a break to enjoy the scenery.

Lunch in Crampiolo

We continue on towards Crampiolo, where a break for lunch awaits us at one of the charming eateries in the village.

Return to the refuge and relax

After finishing the hike, we return to Pensione Fattorini to relax for a while and get ready for the most anticipated evening of the year.

New Year's Eve at the Mountain Hut

In the evening, we celebrate the arrival of the new year together with a New Year's Eve dinner and party at the mountain hut, filled with great food, music, toasts, and a genuine mountain atmosphere. At midnight, we'll toast to the new year surrounded by the magic of the snow-covered Alpe Devero.

The first trek of the new year

After the New Year's Eve celebration, we'll take our time over breakfast and ease slowly into the first day of the year. We'll head out for one last walk in the snow, choosing the route based on conditions and the group's energy levels.

Hike to 1,908 m

We follow the route through trails and snow-covered woods, gradually gaining altitude until we reach the highest point of the itinerary, at 1,908 metres.

Luggage collection and return home

After our last hike, we'll head back to Pensione Fattorini, pick up our luggage, and set off for home, taking with us three days of snow, trekking and mountain atmosphere.
