Bivacco Zeb da Caiasco: A Wild Trek in the Upper Lario to a Mountain Shelter Suspended Between Stone and Sky
The Zeb bivouac from Caiasco
A bivouac hut on the crest, always open, above the upper Lario.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Caiasco, above Dosso del Liro, and move straight into a secluded valley that sets the tone for the day: long, intense, wild. We climb one of the finest stretches of the Alta Via del Lario to the Bivacco Zeb, built in 2018 by the CAI of Dongo in memory of Flavio Muschialli, near the Avert di Muggiolo. It is always open and sleeps eight: arriving up there feels like the real thing.
5 reasons to come - the Bivacco Zeb, always open and spectacularly placed - a stretch of the Alta Via del Lario - the Avert di Muggiolo and its silence - a secluded valley, far from everything - an outing you do not forget
