WHY THIS HIKE

Marino Bassi Mountain Hut in Val Grigna

Alpine dairies, a hidden waterfall and a bivouac hut in the Val Grigna.

Group chat a couple of days before
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

We set off with the Guidders from Plan di Montecampione and climb through dairies and woodland into the heart of the Val Grigna: past Malga Rodeneto, the Montecampione dairies and close to Rifugio Elena Tironi, up to the Bivacco Marino Bassi. Along the way there is a hidden waterfall too, the kind you do not expect, which brings the circuit to life. The route alternates gravel tracks, faint lines through the trees and steeper sections, in genuine alpine country where the regional forest takes the lead.

5 reasons to come - the Bivacco Marino Bassi, the solid objective of the loop - the hidden waterfall along the route - the Val Grigna dairies, still working - the regional forest, among the finest in the Brescia area - a varied loop that never gets dull

Who it suits You need a sure step, decent stamina and care on uneven ground, especially when wet.

A valley to discover at woodland pace: come with the Guidders.
