The experience

We set off with the Guidders from the lower slopes of Cernobbio, practically at the lakeshore, and climb towards Monte Bisbino on historic mule tracks: this line is less known than the Rovenna route, and precisely for that reason quieter and more absorbing. The path runs through woods that rise steadily, with Lake Como widening at every hairpin. At the summit comes the feeling of having genuinely earned it, metre by metre.

Historic Trails

The trail steepens, and we begin to see the first historic mule tracks and characteristic dry stone walls. The landscape becomes more mountainous, and the views open up towards Switzerland and Monte Generoso. This is the most sustained part of the climb, the bit that really "works those legs!"

12:30VIEWPOINT

Mount Bisbino: Hike to Stunning Views!

The trees begin to thin out as we rapidly gain altitude. The final stretch follows a panoramic ridge, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the lake below. We arrive at the Sanctuary: the view is simply breathtaking! On a clear day, you can see all the way to Monviso.

Back to the trailhead / Return to the vehicles

Loop trail return, offering different light and fresh perspectives. The descent is consistent but never too challenging.
