"Hike to the Allievi-Bonacossa Refuge in Val di Mello"
Rifugio Allievi-Bonacossa in Val di Mello
A stretch of the Sentiero Roma, among granite slabs.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from San Martino and cross the Val di Mello on gentle ground, among firs and larches, carried along by the murmur of the stream. Then the route climbs towards the Val Zocca: past the barns and high pasture huts the path turns steeper and sterner, skirting rock slabs and exposed sections, up to Rifugio Allievi-Bonacossa, on the famous Sentiero Roma, in the wild soul of the valley.
