The experience

With the Guidders we climb the Creste del Bestone trail: rock, stretches of woodland and sudden openings straight down onto Lake Garda. It is a varied route, never dull, suspended between mountain and lake in one of the most scenic corners of Lombardy. The climb is steady but never difficult or exposed: after the first kilometre we reach the ridge, and from there the view never lets go.

At the end comes the real reward: an aperitif with local produce is included, to be enjoyed at the top as the sun drops over the lake. We walk back in the dusk, with the sky changing colour above us.

This is an easy hike: six kilometres and little ascent, with no exposed sections or difficulties for those who dislike heights. Bring hiking boots and a head torch for the last stretch back.

We meet the Guidders at the car park in Pertica, in Vesio di Tremosine sul Garda (BS). From here we share cars for about two kilometres to reach the start of the hike. The time is indicative: the exact one is shared in the outing's Telegram group.

On the summit of Monte Bestone, with the aperitif
The trail climbs at a steady gradient, with no difficulties or exposed sections. After the first kilometre we reach the ridge and the view over Lake Garda opens all at once, right up to the summit. Here we stop for the aperitif with local produce, included in the price, as the sun drops over the lake.

Back down at dusk
We head back down the same way in the dusk, the sky changing colour above the lake. A head torch is needed for the last stretch. At the cars we take our time to say goodbye.
