WHY THIS HIKE

The Monte Averau loop from Passo Falzarego

A loop trek on the slopes of Mount Averau, starting from Passo Falzarego, is one of those experiences that Guidders choose when they want to combine iconic views and alpine history in a single day.

The experience

We are in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites, among some of the most famous peaks: Lagazuoi, Nuvolau, and Cinque Torri. The route winds through scenic trails and trenches from the First World War, passing by the charming Rifugio Averau, one of the most beloved in the area.

It is an accessible but very rich excursion: perfect for those who want to experience the mountains without sacrificing historical content and picture-postcard views.

Here, every step tells a story: from the Dolomite rocks to the signs of history, to the views that open onto some of the most beautiful mountains in the world. It is the classic trek that never gets old, because it changes continuously.

The Guidders love it because it combines everything: beauty, history, and sharing. Join the group and come and experience the Averau loop in the right way.

Hi Guidders! 🧡 I'm Alessandro, I'm 35 and I live in the heart of the Dolomites, in Cadore. I'm a mid-mountain leader with the Collegio Guide Alpine del Veneto and a UIMLA member, with a degree in Sport Science, an MTB guide and — yes — a sommelier too: after a hike, a good glass is never out of place. 🍷 I live the mountains in every form they come in: trekking, trail running, mountain bike adventures. Moving in nature is pure energy for me, discovery, feeling, and sharing it is the part of the job I never tire of. Panoramic ridge or woodland singletrack, the goal is the same: a real, active day that puts you back together. See you in the mountains, Guidders!
