Giumello Loop: autumn foliage hike past the San Ulderico church
Giumello: top autumn loop
A loop hike through the colors of autumn, above Casargo.
The experience
We set off with the Guidders from Alpe Giumello, right into a forest that turns gold and red in autumn. The route is a loop: an easy path leads in a few minutes to the San Ulderico Church, an 11th-century chapel with open views over Monte Legnone. From there the trail keeps rolling gently through the woods, until the liveliest part of the day arrives: a steeper climb toward the highest point of the loop, among rocks and wide-open views. Then we head back down, unhurried, in the warm afternoon light.
Along the high stretch the path narrows and opens up, with the drop beside you: nothing hard, just the beautiful feeling of being suspended among the peaks.
5 reasons to join - Casargo's favorite loop, perfect in autumn - the San Ulderico church with Legnone views - the forest changing color under our feet - one scenic stretch that takes your breath away - optional stop at Rifugio Capanna Vittoria
