WHY THIS HIKE

San Grato and Giumello's Pastures

Il nostro percorso ci farà conoscere una delle zone più panoramiche della Valsassina e della Muggiasca. Attraverseremo alcuni dei più noti alpeggi del monte Muggio e scopriremo, al tempo stesso, alcuni punti meno conosciuti e frequentati di questo balcone sul lago e sulla Valsassina. L’escursione avrà inizio dalla frazione Sanico nel comune di Vendrogno per giungere poi all'alpe di Camaggiore, piccolo alpeggio a picco sul lago, famosa per lo stupendo panorama. Da Camaggiore risaliremo il fianco del monte Muggio e, percorrendo una ripida e abbastanza lunga salita (300m di dislivello), guadagneremo la località Prà Bolscino (1.530m.s.l.m), un balcone naturale sul lago. Il nostro percorso continuerà poi a tutta costa per raggiungere l’alpe Chiaro in prossimità della quale è stata recentemente installata una delle famose panchine rosse. Da qui inizierà la nostra discesa che però non mancherà di regalarci ancora emozionanti passaggi tra fitti boschi di abeti e betulle, alpeggi, e altri nuovi scorci panoramici sulla Valsassina e sul lago.
