Eight days hut to hut, at the foot of the Bernina.

Group chat before departure
Come alone, leave with new friends

The experience

The Alta Via della Val Malenco is a staged route in the heart of the Rhaetian Alps: glaciers, alpine lakes and high paths, one after another.

Day 1. From Torre di Santa Maria to Rifugio Bosio Galli. Day 2. From the Bosio to the Ventina and Gerli Porro huts. Day 3. From the Gerli Porro to Chiareggio. Day 4. From Chiareggio to Rifugio Palù, and on stage by stage until the circuit closes.

This is not simply walking: you step into an alpine dimension made of silence, huts and views that change every day.

5 reasons to come - eight days in the heart of the Rhaetian Alps - the glaciers of the Bernina massif - a different hut every evening - alpine lakes one after another - a complete experience, not just a walk

The whole Val Malenco, on foot: set off with the Guidders.

HOW TO GET THERE
07:30PARKING
Torre Santa Maria to Bosio Galli Refuge
Starting from Torre Santa Maria, we ascend to Ciappanico Nuovo at 950m, and then onwards to Ciappanico Vecchio, a well-preserved historic village. Venturing into the Torreggio Valley, we reach the meadows of Alpe Son at 1364m. The trail climbs further to reach Piasci at 1700m, where the panorama opens up, offering stunning views across a large part of Valmalenco. From here, we emerge from the woods at Alpe Arcoglio Inferiore (Lower Arcoglio Alp) at 1976m. A steep dirt track on the right will lead us to the plateau of Alpe Arcoglio Superiore (Upper Arcoglio Alp) at 2123m, boasting beautiful vistas of the Bernina massif. We then arrive near Lago di Arcoglio (Arcoglio Lake) at 2234m, nicknamed "the mirror of the Bernina." From here, it's a short walk to the summit of Sasso Bianco (White Rock) at 2490m, notable for its Dolomite rock formations. After conquering the summit of Sasso Bianco, the trail continues towards Monte Caldenno before descending shortly to our final destination: Rifugio Bosio (Bosio Refuge) at 2086m. This mountain hut is nestled near a peat bog, and the crystal-clear stream winding through it creates a truly fairytale-like setting.
