I'm from Bassano del Grappa and I work mainly in the mountains: from the Venetian Prealps, quieter and wilder, to the wonderful scenery of the Dolomites. On my outings I love telling the story of places and of the people who lived them before us, bringing back the curious local legends and going looking for the particular animals and plants of the area. I love reading, and it's not unusual for me, mid-hike — deep in the forest or on an isolated rise — to open a book and read a passage aloud: with words our legs get lighter and our thoughts step away from the here and now to hold a moment of something timeless.
